Fat Biking

Fat biking is a great way to stay in shape and experience the forest in the winter time. The snowpack mutes the rocky trails, making for a gentler ride, but there's more rolling resistance, making for a tougher workout.  Riding slower provides more time to take in the views while still maintaining a decent heart rate.  It's a challenge blasting downhill while trying not to fish-tail! 

 

Turkey Springs is the is only designated fat bike trail in the area, but if you don't mind encountering snowmobiles, there are huge a number of trails groomed by the Wolf Creek Trail Blazers.

 

Avoid creating deep ruts in the groomed trail by riding morning before the trail softens in the sunlight.
