Located next to the airport, Cloman Park is Archuleta County's only park.  It's a 120-acre open space with mountain bike trails and a frisbee golf course in the summer and thanks to the Pagosa Nordic Club, there are groomed Nordic trails in the winter.    

 

There are about 3 miles of beginner terrain that winds through stands of recently-thinned ponderosa pine.  There are also 2 large sunny meadows that offer views towards the mountains.  The Davis Ranch generously allows access to their property, creating an additional 2.7-mile lollypop.  The Davis Ranch section has a steep, narrow descent, with a couple of tight turns.  There is less traffic on this secluded wildlife preserve (the elk can track up the trail).  

 

The meadow adjacent to the parking lot is a great place to learn to skate ski since it's nearly flat.
